Dr. Michael May has announced he is retiring in July 2021. We will certainly miss the remaining founder of our wonderful practice, but we are happy that Dr. May will be able to enjoy a productive yet restful time in the near future.
Here is Dr. May’s message to the patients of our practice.
I joined Dr. Parnes on 7/1/1989 and have welcomed the growth that the practice has experienced over the following 31 years. I have been supported by many dedicated staff members, both clinical and at the front desk, as well as the extremely talented corps of fellow physicians, whom I consider both friends and colleagues.
I have been blessed to be entrusted with the care of so many newborns and children over the decades. It has been a true joy to watch so many grow and mature as students and now young adults, pursuing their goals and ambitions in the work force. It is even more gratifying to take care of so many of the next generation, as my first patients have now become parents themselves.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made the private practice of pediatrics increasingly challenging, but retirement was beckoning before coronavirus was even in our vocabulary. Although I will miss the joy of providing medical care and the daily interactions with my patients and their parents, it is time to step back and fully enjoy increased time with my family.
I am making this announcement this far in advance so that my families may plan ahead. I plan to continue seeing patients on a full time basis thru June of 2021 and hope that most of the families will remain and continue to receive the excellent care that my fellow pediatricians will be able to provide.
With heartfelt gratitude and thanks,
Michael W May, MD
